A wonderful organic and vegan blend from Argentina, the Domaine Bousquet Gaia Red Blend.

Sample submitted for review. The Gaia Red Blend from Domaine Bousquet has an SRP of $20 but is available for as low as $14. It is imported by WISD LLC.

From the bottle:

GAIA is a blend of organic varietals and vineyards from cool climates, on the foothills of the Andes among Mendoza’s highest altitude vineyards. Grapes are grown organically with no pesticide added. GAIA is a blend of our best grapes, and it is harvested manually, barrel fermented and aged in French oak for 10 months.

This is an elegant wine which exhibits a dense purple color, with aromas of red and blackberries. It has layers of silky and round tannins with notes of violet, blackberry, plump and spice. It is a full-bodied wine with a long finish. The wine is excellent with red meats, red sauces, cheeses and chocolate.

The 2018 Domaine Bousquet Gaia Red Blend opens with a very pleasing aroma full of delicious black cherry and other dark fruit along with licorice and peppery spice.

Tasting reveals lots of deep, dark and ripe and juicy fruit flavors in this one! Nicely balanced and featuring a smooth and silky mouthfeel, this is a pretty tasty blend right here. It even has a bit of a meaty note from the Syrah. I love this combination of grapes.

It ends with a dry, long and lasting finish. It might even be a bit better on day 2. You might also want to check out our reviews of the Gaia Cabernet Sauvignon and Gaia Cabernet Franc.
