A JUMP IN THE PROSECCO DOC AREA

Prosecco is always a good choice, it’s a combination of freshness, flavor and easiness that make it the perfect partner in many moments from celebration to informal ones.

Prosecco is most famous Italian sparkling wine and it is obtained from the Glera grape. It’s the only wine that can be called Prosecco because it is produced inside a protected geographic designation, DOC, short for Denominazione di Origine Controllata.

The denomination is named from the village of Prosecco, a small town in Trieste in the northeastern Italy, so the denomination Prosecco DOC includes nine provinces in two Italian regions, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia between the Dolomite mountains and the Adriatic Sea.

Due to its position and microclimate, this area is particularly vocated for vines cultivation and it’s one of the area where the Prosecco grape, Glera, is best expressed its aromatic qualities.

It is produced using Martinotti method, the sparkling winemaking stage takes place in large pressurized steel tanks which guarantee that the typical bouquet of Glera grapes is maintained.

Prosecco DOC is available in a range of versions which differ in grams of residual sugar:

  • Brut Nature from 0 to 3 gr/L
  • Extra Brut from 0 to 6 gr/L

  • Extra Dry from 12 to 17 gr/L
